Hudson Valley beer is a taste of New York State

Just an hour north of New York City, new breweries are buzzing along the scenic Hudson River fueled by the Hudson Valley’s agricultural bounty.

“Five years ago, you couldn’t make a beer in New York with New York ingredients,” recalls Dennis Nesel, shoeless and shuffling, raking through a golden floor of rootlets and wiping sweat from his brow.
